May 2009: Budget implications for business - a handy guide from UHY Wingfield Slater

A comprehensive guide on how company owners and managers will be affected by the Budget has been published by Sheffield independent accountants and business advisers UHY Wingfield Slater.

Changes in personal tax can be seen at a glance as the guide lists the bands of taxable income and allowances for 2009/10 compared to 2008/09. Similarly, with company tax, it shows the effective rates of corporation tax for the year ending 31 March 2010.

Business taxes are set to change, according to the UHY Wingfield Slater guide, published within its Financial Monitor advisory newsletter. Tax relief for business expenditure on cars, first year capital allowances on plant and machinery and the extension of trading losses carry back rules for business have also been changed following the Budget Speech.

Other issues covered by the guide include changes to capital gains tax, inheritance tax and national insurance contributions and current rates of stamp duty land tax.

The UHY Wingfield Slater Financial Monitor containing the information has already been emailed to clients, but it is now available for anyone to download from the UHY Wingfield Slater website: www.uhy-wingfieldslater.com .
